Teledentistry Appointment in Boston

What is a Virtual Consultation?

Our Smileboston Experience centers around personalized, comfortable, and comprehensive oral health care. With the advent of COVID-19 and all team members wearing a mask (or two) throughout the day, the face-to-face connection has been missing. With that, to ensure that the personalized experience is not lost, we welcome each new patient to the practice with a complimentary 30-minute introductory virtual conversation with Dr. Spitz (or phone call if necessary). This is a time to create a relationship and ask questions about specific treatment, procedures, processes, etc.

Following your initial consultation, an in-person appointment will be set in the office for Full Records that include a CBCT Ultra Low Radiation X-ray, 3D digital diagnostic scans, traditional X-rays, photos, and a full comprehensive exam with either Dr. Steven D. Spitz or Dr. Russell H. Taylor. Many serious oral and overall health conditions can start with small changes in the mouth that otherwise may go unnoticed, so these records are vital to early detection and follow-through throughout your treatment and your future oral health.

Your next visit begins with a hygiene visit or ‘teeth cleaning’, treatment plan overview with Dr. Steven D. Spitz or Dr. Russell H. Taylor, followed by a financial consult with our patient advocate, where our goal is to find a way to help you achieve the smile of your dreams within the parameter of your financial goals. Note that this is a HIPAA-approved site and method, but we request that you not convey any information that you are not comfortable sharing.

What can I expect from my Virtual Consultation?

The health and safety of our patients and team is always our top priority, now and always. Tele-dentistry, which you can access from the safety of your home, is a virtual consult that includes a two-way conversation through video conferencing. During your consultation, we discuss your dental issues, needs, and wants, and collaboratively decide the next best step for you.

What information can I discuss during my Virtual Consultation?

The virtual consultations for new patients are a way for an individual and the doctor to meet and discuss issues and goals. This meeting is not to diagnose specific ailments or issues or to render a final plan. This is the first non-clinical step in our New Patient Smileboston Experience. However, any questions you have can be discussed during your Virtual Consultation, including:
