Welcome to Smileboston Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry

Prepare For Your First Visit

What to Expect At Your First Visit

Your first visit to Smileboston is informational both for you and our team. We will share our goals and values and work to learn about your personal goals regarding your dental care, overall physical health, and financial questions.

Our Smileboston team takes time to properly diagnose any immediate dental concerns, review your past medical and dental histories, and work with you in creating a treatment plan that provides for your optimal dental health. With your cooperation, we will complete a thorough comprehensive dental evaluation.

Because the foundation of a long-term relationship is established during your first visit, we work to make Smileboston your happy dental home and exceed your expectations.

Prepare For Your First Visit

Please assist us by providing the following information prior to your visit:

  • Complete your Patient Registration form. Do not fill out anything you feel uncomfortable answering, as we will get that from you during our personal conversation. If you are unable to fill out the form online, we can mail or email it to you. If applicable, we will ask you to come in early for your appointment and we can assist you in filling out the form;
  • Forward your referral slip and any x-rays if applicable from a previous office;
  • A complete list of current medications;
  • Dental benefit information, which will save  time and allow us to process your claims.

IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation visit.

Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to treatment (i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.). If pre-medication for an existing condition is necessary when receiving treatment, please take medication prior to your appointment. We will not be able to complete a comprehensive check otherwise.

X-Rays

If another office has recently taken x-rays, you may request that they forward them to Smileboston at [email protected], or you can bring them to your consultation. If additional x-rays are necessary, they can be taken at our office.

What to Expect At Your First Visit

Initial Consultation

Your initial appointment at Smileboston will typically be a 60-minute visit to obtain records and speak with the doctor, followed by a visit with our hygienist when appropriate. Your first visit and dental consultation help you to know that you are at the right dental practice and create the best dental plan to meet your needs.

You will have the time to discuss what you want to achieve with your dental treatment and the right way to get you there. This is your one-on-one opportunity to get answers to the questions you may have about treatment, timelines, and final outcomes.

Hygiene Visit (Teeth Cleaning)

At your hygiene visit, you will see one of our amazing Registered Dental Hygienists for thorough care. Your appointment will include a dental cleaning, initial X-rays (when needed), an oral cancer screening, and a periodontal evaluation. Working together we will outline the various treatment options available to achieve your personal goals.
