Dr. Spitz has consistently been on the technological forefront. Since beginning his practice 13 years ago, Dr. Spitz has adopted those technological advances using them to care for his patients. Conscious sedation and laser dentistry for comfort and 3-D computerized dental impressions instead of traditional 'gooey' models, allow his patients to calm their anxiety and increase their comfort.
Dr. Spitz conducts specialized testing as well to care for his patients. Using the VELscope Oral Cancer Screening System, he is able to utilize a special light to 'see' pre-cancerous and cancerous cells within the mouth. This is without the need of a rinse or other oral ingredients that other systems use.
Dr. Spitz can also test his patients’ DNA, with a swab from the cheek, to see if they are genetically prone to specific types of periodontal disease in order to assure that the appropriate periodontal treatment can be prescribed, as well we can take a test to isolate the specific bacteria that causes periodontal disease.
Putting to use the amazing technology that is available makes the dental visit for all more comfortable, more informative and less invasive.
