Your initial appointment at Smileboston will be a consultation. A dental consultation helps you find the right dental practice and the right dental services to meet your needs and expectations. During your visit, one of our dentists will tell you more about the services and technology we offer. You will have the time to discuss what you want to achieve from your dental treatment and what can be done to get you there. This is your opportunity to get answers to the questions you may have about treatment and outcomes.
At your next visit, you will see one of our highly trained registered dental hygienists for a thorough hygiene appointment. This appointment will include a dental cleaning, an oral cancer screening and a periodontal evaluation. A comprehensive dental examination follows, allowing us to gather further information and create a detailed treatment plan tailored to you. Working together we will outline in detail, the various treatment options available to achieve your personal goals.
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:
- Complete your Patient Registration form.
- Your referral slip and any x-rays if applicable.
- A list of medications you are currently taking.
- If you have dental insurance, bring the necessary completed forms. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.
IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation visit.
Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to treatment (i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.).
If another office has already taken x-rays, you may request that they forward them to Smileboston. If you are able, please bring them to your consultation. If additional films are necessary, they can be taken at our facility.
