Digital Radiography (X-Ray)

Digital Radiography (X-Ray)

te_slide2Digital radiography or x-rays are computer-generated images that require 90% less radiation than conventional film x-rays. A dental digital x-ray takes a picture of your teeth and immediately displays it on a computer monitor, as sensors are utilized instead of traditional photographic film.

The main advantages include time saved for the patient and the doctor, as they are able to bypass chemical processing. This technology also allows for images to be digitally transferred and enhanced for treatment planning. Using digital x-rays, less radiation is produced per image in contrast to conventional radiography.

Smileboston Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry adopted this technology in 2002 when digital x-rays were extremely progressive. As always, using technology to provide comfortable dental experience is our priority.
