Computerized 3D Dental Impressions

te_slide7Having dental impressions is one of the more dreaded procedures in any dental practice. But as a Smileboston patient you can say goodbye to ‘gooey’, messy trays and any gagging that may be associated with taking dental impressions for crowns, bridges, veneers, dentures, implant restorations and more. Smileboston Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry uses the Lava Chairside Oral Scanner as part of your high-tech dental experience.

In addition to comfort, using the 3D scanner provides many benefits for the final aesthetics as well. The accuracy on the impression due to computerized precision creates better-fitting crowns, bridges, etc. for the final look as well as the way the teeth fit together in the mouth.

Special 3-D glasses allow the dentist and patient to see all angles of the teeth and final impression. The whole process takes a minute or two, and in that time, we can capture an image of the patient’s teeth that is sent to a local dental lab to create the final restoration.
