Use it or Lose it
Make sure to take advantage of the dental coverage you’ve already paid for!

Most dental plans run from January 1st to December 31st, so chances are your benefits will expire at the end of the year. Remember that all claims must be processed by the end of the year and unused benefits will not roll over to into 2014.

Now is the perfect time to take care of any pending dental issues before the hectic holiday season begins. To check on your benefits or to schedule an appointment, call the Brookline office at 617-277-4100 or Smileboston Pembroke at 781-826-7577.
The Smile Behind the Beards
Every spring our very own Dr. Steven Spitz heads to Boston Red Sox spring training to make sure that the team’s teeth are in tip top shape before the start of the season. As the saying goes, it’s a tough job but someone’s got to do it!

Dental care is serious business for the Red Sox who have made the oral health of its players a top priority. Dr. Spitz provides oral health care services and education that are critical to the health of the team. After all, a healthy mouth and smile are indicators of your overall well-being.

Congratulations to our Boston Red Sox and thank you for another winning season of smiles!

Team Profile:
Andrew LaPosta & Paige Polk
As part of Smileboston’s Management Team, Andrew LaPosta and Paige Polk are responsible for running the front desk at the Brookline and Pembroke offices, respectively. They are integral in making Smileboston’s top-notch customer service happen!

In 2009, Andrew was introduced to Smileboston through a cousin of Dr. Spitz. It was only five minutes into his initial interview that he knew he wanted to join the team and it has been a happy marriage ever since. Andrew is a natural when it comes to working with people and his enthusiasm helps make patients feel comfortable and welcome. A self-proclaimed foodie, Andrew loves exploring the myriad dining options in the area.

Paige was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama…and no, she doesn’t have a thick accent! She worked in Smileboston’s Brookline office for two years before moving to Rhode Island to pursue her love of Interior Design. When she heard that Smileboston was opening a second location, she inquired and was welcomed back to the practice with open arms. Since moving back to Massachusetts, Paige has gotten engaged and bought a house near the Pembroke office.

Say hello, or ask for a restaurant recommendation, the next time you’re in the office!
Word of Mouth
Dental Tip: Be sure to cap your toothpaste, not your brush. Did you know that covering your toothbrush can trap moisture and encourage bacteria growth? Yuck!
Seconds? Yes, please! Pumpkin can actually help prevent cavities and tooth decay; click here (http://www.completelyyou.com/a/feature/food/pumpkin_health_benefits/index.html#.Un5wSyTlWt8) to learn about the health benefits of this autumn treat.
Wishing you a harvest of smiles this Thanksgiving season! Thank you for entrusting Smileboston with your dental care.
