Boston Dentist Dr. Spitz Achievements
Dental Implant/Laser Achievements
Dr. Spitz is one of few Prosthodontist in New England who uses the advanced technology of the Waterlase® MD laser. Applications range from surgical placement of dental implants and biopsies, to smile contouring, full mouth reconstruction, and treatment of cavities.
Dr. Spitz is the first dentist in United States to successfully place dental implants utilizing the Waterlase laser.
Dr. Spitz, founder of Smileboston Dental Implant Continuum, teaches specialty surgical implant placement to dentists throughout the country using the innovative (BAC system) categorizing the surgical and restorative phases of implant dentistry into basic, advanced and complex cases, with and without the use of the dental laser.
Dental Laser Achievements
Dr. Spitz was chosen as the Prosthodontist for the Benjamin Franklin Tooth Restoration project. Dr. Spitz used the Waterlase® laser to restore a tooth believed to have been extracted from America's Founding Father, Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790).
Dr. Spitz was the first dentist to use and teach the Waterlase Laser in Central America. He was chosen to represent Biolase Technologies in the teaching the basic uses of the laser to the three dental schools and many doctors in San Jose, Costa Rica and Panama.
Dr. Spitz received the Award for Leadership and Outstanding Contributions in Advancing Dentistry Through Laser Technology, 2004, by the World Clinical Laser Institute, and has obtained his Masters certificate in the WCLI.
Professional Accomplishments
Dr. Spitz is one of few dentists to be accepted into the Birthing of Giants® program. The Birthing of Giants program is an executive educational program jointly hosted by the world-renowned MIT Enterprise Forum, Inc., and the Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO). Each year only 60 young entrepreneurs, each under the age of 40 and founders of their corporations, are accepted into the three-year program.
Dr. Spitz was accepted to the Harvard School of Dental Medicine/Boston V.A. Hospital post-graduate program 1995. Each year, selected from hundreds of applicants, only one doctor is accepted to the two-year Prosthodontic Certification program.
Dr. Spitz and Smileboston were chosen as Boston's Best Cosmetic Dentist, 2003 by Improper Bostonian Magazine (the only year for this specific category).
Dr. Spitz and Smileboston were mentioned as, "one of the most reputable places in Boston for cosmetic procedures" by Boston Magazine.
